Our theater building has a wonderful history. Built in 1901 as a furniture store, it was converted to the first Pollard Theatre in 1919, featuring silent movies and live vaudeville acts. Ten years later, it was equipped for sound movies and continued as the Melba Theatre until the Pollard Theatre Company was formed. Now in our 33rd Season, we are approaching 100 years of our theater being the center of entertainment for downtown Guthrie.
For over thirty years, The Pollard Theatre Company has produced in our namesake building, and your support can help us continue that legacy. Our patrons appreciate the value we add to the region by creating quality theatre that is both thought-provoking and entertaining. The Pollard plays a major role in the appeal of Guthrie as a quaint and unique destination, as well contributing to the quality of life in central Oklahoma.
Proudly display your name as a Pollard supporter on an attractive brass seat plaque, or honor a friend or love one as you help preserve our building's legacy!
